MOUSE PADS: DO WE STILL NEED THEM? - The answer is yes and no. Yes, optical mice work without a mouse pad, but I find in my personal use that they work much better with a mouse pad. I also find that the best mouse pad is a soft canvas pad without any designs or logos on the top.
